missionary work ?

should we encourage people to go abroad to preach the gospel when there is so many to reach at home ?

Yes, definitely. There will always be people close to home who are not saved, so you have to move on (Luke 9:5). Nowadays Africa and Asia are sending missionaries to this country - we are now the pagan mission field! At an Anglican conference a while ago an African told the British CofE that they 'needed to find Jesus again'. Sad.
